I love books that have a happy ending, what I love even more is a happy ending with a paranormal twist. This is my first Sophie Kinsella book so I was quite sceptical before I started reading it, the only reason I picked it up was because of the fact that there was a friendly ghost in this book and the book had some mystery to it.

Once I started reading it I was drawn into the lives of Lara and Sadie and truthfully I enjoyed their company. The start was quite good we were introduced to the primary leads and the way their bond develops is quite fun to read. Though at times I found the book to be boring, I think it certainly would have benefited if it had been 50 pages less as it would have resulted in the story being crispier.

The romance sits on the backburner and I personally didn’t mind that all too much because we all know these novels always have a Happily Ever After, so I wasn’t worried about our couple.  Sadie was a lively character, though I wouldn’t call her perfect because she also had her flaws but her story was great. The ending did make my eyes go misty so kudos to the book for accomplishing that. Overall a good read I would recommend for a light, funny summer read.
