“Making the world a better place, one cupcake at a time.”
Whenever I take a break from reading for a while, it is always easy to come back to reading with a romance book. This contemporary enemies to lovers romance will leave you smiling and craving for a cupcake. It is a story about two passionate people Blaire and Ronan following their dreams to leave a mark in the world.
Sparks are sure to fly while one dabbles with cupcakes and the other with beer that to in neighbouring cafes! What begins as a competition ends up being so much more than that. Along the way we see a beautiful romance evolve which is sweet, sexy and heartwarming!
This book particularly was effortless and comfortable to read. Once the story got going I could not stop reading the book. I loved the character development in the book. We get to know what drives these two people to be so passionate about their dreams because of which you want to know how their efforts pay off.
We have Blaire who is a smart, intelligent, woman with a quick wit who will do anything to achieve her dream and she challenges Ronan at every turn. Ronan is a quiet, broody and charismatic guy who is helping his grandfather run the bar which has been in their family for generations and that is where he meets Blaire who own the neighbouring cafe and sparks fly!
It also has a few lovable supporting characters like Blaire’s best friend Daphne, Ronan’s grandfather Henry who fit in perfectly in the story and add a nice depth. The way the author paints a picture about cupcakes and the cafes, you feel like you are taking a bite of a cupcake sitting in their cafes.
I also loved the cute quotes with cupcakes and booze at the end of each chapter. The story is very relevant with no evil villain trying to take over the world but very real-life situations with a wonderful play of emotions.
To conclude, if you are in the lookout of a nice contemporary romance with a happily ever after for your staycation with a hot cup of coffee or tea, then this is the perfect book for you.
